On Saturday 29th August we went with a History teacher of the Akranes High school to the Countryside of Iceland. We went by car to the Old Parliament building of Iceland which was established over 900 years ago. It is a special place due to the meeting point of the tectonic plates of America and Europe. After that, we followed the gap between the two plates and continued our daytrip to Geysir Strokur where we got the chance to see the impressive fountain of it. For most of us, this has been the high light of the trip. The next point on our agenda was a trip to the waterfall of Gullfoss. This huge waterfall is amazing and with nothing comparable in Austria. To complete our round trip we took an electricity road back to Akranes. Along the road we had a gorgeous view to Longglacier, one on the biggest glaciers of Iceland. Arriving in Akranes we were all hungry and so we started cooking imediately. So we could enjoy nice pasta and potatoes with sour cream. In the evening we went to a pub and enjoyed our selves.
All the best from Iceland
